Learn about how local youth are building relationships with youth on reservations in South Dakota and in the Grand Canyon. Wolakota Youth Programs takes local youth from Southeast Michigan and Northwest Ohio to the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota and to the Havasupai Reservation in the Grand Canyon. The mission of Wolakota is simple: Relationships. Transform Lives. It is a unique program that bridges the worlds of youth from different parts of the country, creating connection, fostering meaning, and building relationships. Simply stated, Wolakota means "big friendship." Wolakota Youth Programs is committed to fostering big friendship between Native and non-Native youth, and supporting the transformation these relationships engender.
